THE BEST OF THE ADAMELLO BRENTA NATURAL PARK – 3 days Hike & Bike – Level MODERATE

THE BEST OF THE ADAMELLO BRENTA NATURAL PARK – 3 days Hike & Bike – Level MODERATE 2000 1333 TrekMI

Three days immersed in the natural wonders of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, a protected area that encompasses two very different mountaineous ranges: the Brenta Dolomites, made of dolostone and the Adamello-Presanella mountain system, made of granite rock. Looking at one another from the opposite sides of the Rendena Valley, both mountain ranges are worth your visit.

Day 1 – Val di Genova by E-Bike
We start early from the city of Milan heading towards the alpine resort of Pinzolo (3.5 hours). Here we get on our E-Bikes, ready to start a great journey across the Genova Valley. Better known as the valley of waterfalls, this 17 kms (10.5 mi) long valley is the most iconic of the Adamello-Presanella mountain system, streteching right in between the two mountainous groups. The abundance of water and the huge walls of granite rock give origin to a series of breath-taking waterfalls, including the spectacular Nardis ones. The road is mostly paved (only the very last part is gravel) and you don’t need to be a professional to ride an E-Bike. It’s just the same as a bike but with a battery to help you through. Less effort and more fun! Lunch will be in a mountain hut along the way. Overnight stay in a hotel in Pinzolo or around.

Day 2 – Dolomites
We start the day immersed in the spruce and fir forest following the water jumps of the picturesque Vallesinella waterfalls, the most  beautiful in the entire region. The landscape is idyllic but the real spectacle has yet to come. The trail takes us smootly above the tree line and closer to the iconic rock towers which are the symbol of the Dolomites and backdrop to some of the most scenic mountain huts in the area. In front of such an amazing scenery we can only stare in awe and enjoy every single moment of the hike. Our plan is to reach the Ai Brentei Hut and have lunch there. Overnight stay in a hotel in Pinzolo or around.

Day 3 – Lakes of San Giuliano
Among the many highlights hidden in the territory of the Adamello-Presanella mountain system we find the lakes of San Giuliano and the homonymous mountain hut nestled between them. The ascent to the lakes offers suggestive views over the Lares and Nardis Glaciers as well as wonderful views over the Brenta Dolomites. Immersed in a paradisiacal context, the lakes of San Giuliano are the perfect destination to conclude these three amazing days discovering the wonders of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park. Not forgetting to try the hut’s most famous cake before leaving! At the end of our tour, in the early afternoon, we start our drive back to the city of Milan.

STRAIGHT TO THE HEART OF THE BRENTA DOLOMITES – 2 days Trek – Level MODERATE or DEMANDING

STRAIGHT TO THE HEART OF THE BRENTA DOLOMITES – 2 days Trek – Level MODERATE or DEMANDING 2000 1333 TrekMI

At the very heart of the Brenta Dolomites, surrounded by impressive lunar-like rock formations, are located some of the coziest mountain huts you could ever imagine. Our plan is to stay overnight in one them and hike around, exploring this Unesco World Heritage area during the days. A great opportunity to discover a world made of dolostone but also some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the entire region.

Day 1
We start early from the city of Milan, heading towards the world-class skiing resort of Madonna di Campiglio (4 hours). From here we start hiking, immersed in the idyllic spruce and larch forest. Following the water jumps of the picturesque Vallesinella waterfalls we reach a first mountain hut. Here we stop for a delicious traditional meal. The hike isn’t over and now is actually time to get ready for the real spectacle! The trail takes us smoothly above the tree line and closer to the rock towers that are the backdrop to the Ai Brentei Hut. Newly restored this mountain hut offers great views and a super cozy atmosphere. The perfect place where to spend the night, not giving up the basic comforts.

Day 2
If you’re in for an early wake up call and you want a bit more of a challenge, we can hike even higher to the Alimonta Hut, hidden among the upper gullies of the Brenta Dolomites. If not and anyways on the way down from here, our hike continues traversing to the Tuckett Hut, located at the foot of some of the Dolomites’ most iconic rock formations. Such an amazing background scenery for our lunch break! In the afternoon we continue our descent to the car and from there back to Milan.

SAN PRIMO PEAK – Day Hike – Level MODERATE 2560 1707 TrekMI

Monte San Primo is the highest peak in the portion of mountains that separates the two southern branches of Lake Como. That means an amazing view point located in a very central position and just behind the peninsula of Bellagio of which it grants a wonderful perspective. The hike to San Primo Peak is rather long but without technical difficulties. The trail is well marked and the terrain pretty smoth. It is incredible that just a few kms away from the shore we can immerse ourselves in such a great natural landscape. The views can reach as far as the higher peaks of the Alps on the border with Switzerland. A truly rewarding experience!
